Craft Emergency Relief Fund

CERF+’s Emergency Grants are designed to provide immediate help to eligible craft artists after career-threatening emergencies. The maximum potential Emergency Grant is $4,000. CERF+’s Emergency Recovery Loan is used by an eligible craft artist to re-establish, improve, or possibly expand work capacity after an emergency. The maximum potential Emergency Recovery Loan is $8,000.

Emergency Grants provides prompt funding for innovative visual and performing artists who have unanticipated, sudden opportunities to present their work to the public when there is insufficient time to seek other sources of funding and/or Incur unexpected or unbudgeted expenses for projects close to completion with committed exhibition or performance dates Requests are primarily granted to artists who are “emerging” and who have few sources of financial support. Emergency Grants is the only active, multi-disciplinary program that offers immediate assistance of this kind to artists working anywhere in the United States. Emergency Grants does not provide support for life-related emergencies.

Jazz Musicians Emergency Fund

The program focuses on a wide variety of crucial services: from paying rent and mortgages and assisting with tenant and owner issues, to keeping the phone and electricity on, to ensuring food remains on the table. Other services include paying for transportation, home assistance, instruments and instrument repair, storage, clothing and union dues. Whenever necessary, musicians are referred for pro bono legal services, primarily to negotiate and obtain royalties.

The Joan Mitchell Foundation provides emergency support to visual artists working in the mediums of painting, sculpture, and/or drawing, who have suffered significant losses after natural or manmade disasters that have affected their community. Music Maker Relief Foundation

Music Maker steps in and makes sure artists have what they need to live in safety and comfort. Music Maker partner artists frequently must survive on less than $10,000 annually. They may have to choose between food, housing and needed medications or face the types of unexpected expenses, such as illness or theft, that can cripple someone barely meeting their day-to-day needs. Poverty and economic insecurity are formidable obstacles to creativity, stemming the growth and health of our cultural traditions. This program provides monthly stipends for food, shelter and medical care, supplies emergency aid for artists in crisis, and connects artists with government and non-profit resources.

All services provided are free and confidential. SOS helps singers whose circumstances are the result of personal, financial or medical crises.
