Alliance for African Women Initiative (AFAWI)


Alliance for African Women Initiative (AFAWI) is a non governmental, non profit grassroots organisation working in support women and vulnerable children across Ghana. Our work concentrate on economic women empowerment, promotion of women right, advocacy towards obtaining sustainable development for women and children in Ghana and also building partnership such as offering volunteering and internship opportunities in support of women and children.

Femmes Africa Solidarité

FAS develops and implements programmes that fall in 4 main objectives: Fostering, supporting and promoting women’s initiatives in the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in Africa, and for the respect of their rights; Strengthening women’s leadership capacity, including at the grassroots, to restore and maintain peace in their countries; Engendering policies, structures, programmes and the peace process for the attainment of durable peace and human security in Africa; Advocating at the national, regional and international levels for African women’s rights and concerns, and their critical role on issues of peace and security.


Zawadisha provides small loans for items with big impact to rural Kenyan women to help finance their livelihoods. Loans for solar lamps get toxic and expensive paraffin out of homes and make it easier for children to study. Rain water harvesting tanks free up nearly six hours per day so women can spend time tending to their small businesses. Loans for clean cook stoves reduce the entire family’s dependence upon charcoal, a costly and harmful fuel responsible for deforestation and disease. We follow up with leadership and business training to help these women maximize the potential of their loans, test out ideas, cultivate businesses, and develop their leadership skills.


The Women’s Foundation (Hong Kong)

We are a non-profit organisation established in 2004 and dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong through ground-breaking research, impactful and innovative community programmes, and education, media engagement and advocacy. Our three key focus areas are challenging gender stereotypes, increasing the number of women in decision-making and leadership positions, and empowering women in poverty to achieve a better quality of life for themselves and their families.


The National Foundation of Australian Women

Today as we progress the interests of women and maintain and make accessible an extraordinary record of achievement, we keep the aspirations of women alive to be handed on to new generations.

The South Australian Country Women’s Association

The South Australian Country Women’s Association has been serving the community since 1929. We are not for profit, non party political and non sectarian. The organisation is made up of volunteers who work to promote the welfare and conditions of life for women and children, of all ages, whether in the city or country.

Women’s Network Australia

We are a membership-based organisation that empowers women to reach their full potential in business. For over two decades we have been educating, guiding and supporting women in their pursuit of success, helping them to turn their start up or newly founded businesses into profitable enterprises.


European Feminist Initiative

European Feminist Initiative IFE-EFI was founded in 2003 as a feminist network. It is based in France and is represented in 13 countries in Europe. Members of IFE-EFI are indepedant organizations and individuals. IFE-EFI develops solidarity cooperation and is building partnerships with feminist organizations in Europe and whole Mediterranean area.

Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) is an international network of over 100 women’s, environmental and health organisations implementing projects in 40 countries and advocating globally for a healthy environment for all.

North America

Arcus Foundation

The Arcus Foundation lends special emphasis to programs and organizations which recognize that members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) community deserve to be welcomed and celebrated. Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Arcus Foundation devotes many of its philanthropic resources to improving the quality of life in Southwestern Michigan.

Boston Women’s Fund

For the past twenty years, the Boston Women’s Fund has been the only foundation in northeastern Massachusetts to exclusively support community–based organizations run by women and girls. We fund low–income women, women of color, lesbians, women with disabilities, older women, and girls who are working to create a society based on racial, social and economic justice.

Chicago Foundation for Women

Chicago Foundation for Women raises money to fund and support organizations that help women and girls—it’s all about making smarter connections between need, money and solutions. We improve the lives of women and girls through grants, advocacy, leadership development, and public and grantee education.

Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable TR

We provide technology and financial educational training programs for economically disadvantaged youth’s, Veterans, domestic violence survivors and underprivileged individuals. We provide safe housing for Veterans, domestic violence survivors and their children and homeless women and their children. In addition, we provide basic needs to hundreds of families and individuals requesting our assistance throughout southeastern Michigan during these challenging times.

Iowa Women’s Foundation

New York Women’s Foundation

The New York Women’s Foundation was established in 1987 as a voice for women and a force for change. We combine hands–on philanthropy with community–driven projects to change the lives of low–income women and girls. The New York Women’s Foundation funds organizations and programs within the five boroughs of New York City that have developed strategies to move low–income women and girls towards long–term economic security.

The Ann Bancroft Foundation

The Sister Fund

The Sister Fund is a private foundation that supports and gives voice to the marginalized, especially women working for healing in the world from a faith-based perspective. The Sister Fund believes that women can transform faith, and faith can transform feminism. We fund this kind of transformation in a variety of contexts. The Valentine Foundation

The Vermont Women’s Fund
